Absalom Jones Celebration at The Cathedral

The Diocese of Southwest Florida, in partnership with the Rev. John E Culmer-Herman Monroe Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians and the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, is pleased to invite you to the Absalom Jones Celebration, to be held on Saturday, February 27, 2027, at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter. This day-long gathering will honor the faith, witness, and enduring legacy of Absalom Jones—the first African American ordained as a priest in The Episcopal Church—through storytelling, reflection, worship, and community.  More information about the event and registration to come.
