Praise be to God on High and thanks be to His people in SWFL!
Thank you to everyone who helped with our Diocesan Daughters of the King Service Project. We were able to help many children in need throughout this diocese with our donations.
More than twenty-one congregations donated over 1,200 items to help the children. This includes private donors who also contributed more than 50 of those items.
According to Mark Coates, President of Beds For Kids, Inc., because of our donations of bedding, they were able in 12 days to deliver 29 beds for children this month alone. His organization serves needy children in the center of our diocese. This group creates the beds and stores the donated bedding in Mark’s workshop in Manatee County. We look forward to scheduling a “Bed Build” with them in cooler weather.
Churches in Clearwater have scheduled a “Bed Build” with Sleep In Heavenly Rest of Tarpon Springs for November, and they have made donations to them. These donations of beds and bedding will help children in need in the northern parts of the Diocese of SWFL.
Looking southward, Church of the Epiphany, Cape Coral, has connected with A.N.A.’s Friends, in Ft. Myers. The initials stand for Abandoned, Neglected, and Abused. This organization helps children in need in the southern parts of our diocese.
By the Grace of God, we really did do a service project to help needy children all over our diocese. Thank you all for your generous support.
The Motto of The Daughters of The King:
For His Sake,
I am but one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do.
