Iona-Hope Calls New Rector

Iona-Hope in Ft. Myers has called the Rev. Jennifer Scott-Jones of Elmira, New York as Rector. Mother Scott-Jones will join the Iona-Hope community in early August, arriving with her husband Arthur, and their two young children (pictured above).

Mother Scott-Jones holds a Master’s of Sacred Theology degree from the Sewanee School of Theology and a Master’s of Divinity from Regent College. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eastern University. Mother Jenny has done additional training in disaster chaplaincy, marriage preparation, clinical pastoral education, and asset-based community development.

In a letter to the congregation, the search committee stated, “We all felt she expressed warmth, a good sense of humor, and excellent skills as a full-time Rector. She described her strengths as building and maintaining relationships, and administration skills, and she prefers to work as a team player collaboratively with people. She has a diversity of ministry experiences including serving in multiple countries. Mother Jenny is proficient in technology and has successful grant writing experience. With over 20 years of experience in Christian ministry, she became an Associate Rector in 2018 and Priest-in-charge in 2020.”

When asked what draws her to Iona-Hope, she responded “the inclusivity, future orientation, social justice, heartfelt spirituality, and pastoral care.”
