The Rev. Andrew Lazo called at Interim Rector at Saint Hilary’s in Ft. Myers

The Rev. Andrew Lazo has accepted the call as Interim Rector for Saint Hilary’s Episcopal Church in Ft. Myers. He will begin his call in September.

Fr. Andrew is an internationally known C.S. Lewis scholar. He was ordained in the Diocese of Texas in 2023. He is currently the Associate Rector at St. John’s Episcopal Church of Tampa. He attended Virginia Theological Seminary and Northwind Theological Seminary.

Fr. Andrew shared this letter with Saint Hilary’s upon the announcement:

Dearest People of St. Hilary’s,

I am so grateful that God has led me to Fort Myers to serve as your Interim Rector. From the moment I heard about this wonderful parish, I have been so impressed with what God is doing in and through you in your community, that I’ve been eager to come and take part. My wife Christin and I both look forward to joining with you to make Christ known through love and service (and of course we can’t wait to meet and start getting to know you all!).

As you do the good and crucial work of discerning who will serve as your next rector, I look forward to working with Deacon Bobbie and the outstanding parish leaders to shepherd us all through this season of opportunity and blessing and into the next one, with great hope and faith for the future. We’ll see you very soon!

Kindly and with every blessing,

Fr. Andrew Lazo
