Healing Ministries in Southwest Florida

Find Resources

Florida is well known for being a place of healing, even from the beginning when explorer Ponce de Leon searched for a “Fountain of Youth.”

Today, ministries of healing are an important part of the mission of the churches in the Diocese of Southwest Florida. Healing ministries cater to parishioners, the larger community and visitors. Get in touch with any parish priest, and they are trained to pray individually with you about issues of concern.

There are also a number of healing ministries in the Diocese of Southwest Florida.

  • School and Parish Chaplains: Diocesan chaplains minister to schools and parish priests minister to the sick in local hospitals. Our parish churches also hold regular weekly healing services, many of which are convenient to resort areas.
  • Christian Healing Center of Naples is a safe place where people from all walks of life can come for healing prayer. Inspired by visionary Mike Johnson and founded in November 2016, it’s an outreach directly supported by St. John’s Episcopal Church via OSL training, prayer teams and financial gifts.  Led now by Rev. Dan & Iara Pinckney, the center continues to grow as an ecumenical healing outreach into Collier County, with its first class of 9 members receiving OSL Training and certification in July 2017.  For more information and to schedule your healing prayer appointment, please visit chcnaples.org
  • Amazing Love Healing Ministry: In the Diocese, the Amazing Love Healing Ministry holds healing conferences and prayer sessions with not only members of our churches, but the public at large. Amazing Love also holds occasional healing prayer sessions and training events at DaySpring Episcopal Conference Center. The group works internationally, but can also connect you with parish priests in Florida.
  • The Healing Mission, Siesta Key: St. Boniface Episcopal Church operates The Healing Mission, an extensive healing center with a long history. The Mission invites all who are carrying heavy physical, emotional or spiritual burdens to come for rest, renewal and healing. The mission is housed on a building on the St. Boniface campus on Siesta Key, just a short walk from famous Siesta Key beach. Over a dozen trained volunteers staff the mission. The mission makes no claims, but Healing Mission Volunteers believe that all things are possible with God and that everyone who comes to the Mission will receive some kind of help. The mission celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. Visit bonifacechurch.org or call 941-349-5616 for an appointment.
