Below is a list of the Top Five Reminders for your church in preparation for the storm.
1. Weather Alerts: Monitor the storm’s forecasted track and other information by visiting the National Hurricane Center website found at this link.
2. Emergency Management: Track your county’s Emergency Management Office for information concerning evacuations and more.
3. Church Insurance: Most of our parishes use Church Insurance Corporation (CIC). They have assessors in the area ready to respond to claims. Claims can be reported 24/7 at 800-223-5705. Review the Safety & Insurance Handbook for Churches HERE and download the CIC Disaster Preparedness information HERE.
4. Critical Documents: Ensure you have a copy of mission-critical documents including financial records, insurance information, Parish Directory, and photographs of your property and buildings.
5. Communications: Ensure that all phones are charged before the hurricane arrives.
